Negative. Pic: Reuters<br \/>\n        <\/span><br \/>\n      <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Real Madrid also said in a statement: &#8220;Real Madrid CF announces that at no time has its participation in the new Club World Cup to be organised by FIFA in the upcoming 2024\/2025 season been questioned.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Therefore, our club will compete, as planned, in this official competition that we face with pride and with the utmost enthusiasm to make our millions of fans around the world dream again with a new title.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In December last year, FIFA detailed controversial plans for a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/fifa-club-world-cup-to-take-place-in-2025-in-the-united-states-13031836\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>32-club edition of the tournament<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; which is due to be held in the US next year from 15 June to 13 July.<\/p>\n<p>The expanded tournament will feature 12 representatives from Europe, including Real Madrid &#8211; as they won the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/topic\/champions-league-7590\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Champions League<\/strong><\/a> in 2021\/22 and 2023\/24.<\/p>\n<p>Under FIFA&#8217;s plan, the 32-team competition will be held every four years rather than annually<\/p>\n<p>But with the tournament set to run into mid-July, it means Premier League clubs who reach the final will have just four weeks between the end of the Club World Cup and their first league game of the season.<\/p>\n<p>It comes after a letter from the global players&#8217; in adding games, leaving players with little space for rest and recovery.<\/p>\n<p>FIFA has refused to back down on plans to expand the tournament and says it is &#8220;fully within its rights&#8221;
