A chargesheet<\/a> has been filed in the case, nearly three months after a 54-year-old man in south Delhi’s Devli neighborhood is accused of killing his 29-year-old son on the eve of his wedding. On June 5, the chargesheet was submitted to Saket court following the police examination of 37 witnesses.<\/p>\n

Gaurav Singhal was killed on March 7. The father, Ranglal, and four men, Harsh, Varshu, Chetan, and Lakshay, are accused of killing him under Sections 302 (murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy<\/a>) of the IPC.<\/p>\n

The victim sustained many stab wounds to his head, back, face, and other areas of his body.<\/p>\n

During the investigation, Ranglal confessed a hatred against Gaurav, the gym owner, due to a slapping incident and his luxurious lifestyle. According to a police source, Ranglal alleged that Gaurav smacked him publicly during a disagreement with his wife roughly two years ago.<\/p>\n

It was the main source of conflict between father and son. Gaurav had gone on vacation to Dubai a few months before his death, which resulted in an altercation. According to the source, he once bought a pricey suit that Ranglal did not approve of.<\/p>\n

Two months before the murder, Ranglal told Varshu about his son’s misbehavior and begged him to kill Gaurav. “Varshu introduced him to three people who agreed to carry out the murder, and deal was fixed for Rs 1.5 lakh,” according to a source.Ranglal admitted to cops that he should have murdered Gaurav earlier and showed no remorse. He furnished the murder weapon (scissors), chose the place (his vacant house<\/a>), and turned on the generator<\/a> to mute his son’s screams during the murder.He chose a corner room and gave scissors for the three men. He summoned his son to the building on a pretense. He initially turned off the power and started the generator. According to the informant, they repeatedly stabbed Gaurav before leaving. <\/p>\n

Ranglal killed Gaurav a day before the wedding to teach his wife a lesson. He believed she backed Gaurav’s misbehavior and did not want to damage his son’s future with the girl he was getting married to.<\/p>\n
