After the Delhi High Court stayed Arvind Kejriwal<\/a>‘s bail, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo filed a petition in the Supreme Court of India against the same, the party said on Sunday. <\/p>\n

The Delhi CM’s lawyers have appealed for a hearing on Monday morning , they added. <\/p>\n

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Friday had moved Delhi High Court against a trial court’s Thursday order of granting bail to Kejriwal in the alleged excise policy case<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The High Court has reserved the order on ED’s petition seeking a stay on the trial court’s plea, and said that the order will be passed in around two to three days.<\/p>\n

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court had granted Kejriwal bail<\/a> on a \u20b91 lakh bond earlier this week. Conditions for his release included not interfering with the investigation or influencing witnesses in the agency’s money laundering probe. <\/p>\n

Additionally, Kejriwal had been asked appear before the court as required and cooperate with the investigation.Previously, the Supreme Court granted Kejriwal interim bail on May 10 until June 1 to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections, with the condition that he must return to jail by June 2. He surrendered to Tihar jail on June 2 and has remained in judicial custody since.On June 5, the trial court denied Kejriwal’s request for interim bail, which he had sought due to various health issues.<\/p>\n

AAP leader Sanjay Singh had accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making a mockery of the justice system after the Delhi HC stayed bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.<\/p>\n

“Look at the hooliganism of the Modi government, the trial court’s order has not yet come, even a copy of the order has not been received, so Modi’s ED reached the High Court to challenge which order? What is happening in this country? Modi ji, why are you making a mockery of the justice system? The whole country is watching you?” the AAP MP said in a post on X. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Sunita Kejriwal, wife of the jailed chief minister lashed out at the ED for challenging her husband’s bail order in the high court, accusing it of behaving as if the AAP national convener was the “most wanted terrorist in India”.<\/p>\n

“It was only yesterday your chief minister got bail. In the morning, the order was supposed to be uploaded. This happened as if Kejriwal is the most wanted terrorist in India,” Sunita Kejriwal said in Delhi’s Bhogal where Delhi Water Minister Atishi began an indefinite hunger strike to press on her demand for getting more water from Haryana.
