Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/a> on Sunday addressed the first Mann Ki Baat<\/a> session since February 2024 and expressed his happiness regarding people voting his government back to power for the third consecutive time.“People reposed their unbreakable trust in the Constitution<\/a>, democratic process in the elections,” he said in the 111th episode of his broadcast. <\/p>\n

Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio program, last broadcast on February 25, was paused due to the Lok Sabha elections<\/a>. According to Election Commission<\/a>‘s Model Code of Conduct (MCC), official events or public-funded platforms should not be used in ways that could provide the ruling party with publicity or a political edge.<\/p>\n

“Today, finally the day has some for which we all were waiting for since February. Through ‘Mann Ki Baat’, I am once again amongst you, amongst my family members. I told you in February that I would meet you again after the election results and today I am again present amongst you with Mann Ki Baat. The arrival of Monsoon has made your hearts happy as well,” Modi said.<\/p>\n

The PM noted that June 30 is celebrated as Hul Diwas by India’s tribal population.<\/p>\n

“Today, June 30 is a very important day. Our tribal brothers and sisters celebrate this day as Hul Diwas. This day is associated with the courage of Veer Sidhu and Kanhu who strongly opposed the atrocities of foreign rulers. They united thousands of Santhali companions and fought bravely with the British. This happened in 1855, that is, two years before India’s first war of Independence in 1857,” he added.<\/p>\n

What is Mann Ki Baat?

“Mann Ki Baat,” Prime Minister Modi’s monthly radio program, addresses key national issues directly to Indian citizens. It airs on the last Sunday of each month. The show, paused during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections (April 19 to June 1), resumed after the election results were announced on June 4, forming the 18th Lok Sabha.Since its launch on October 3, 2014, “Mann Ki Baat” has aimed to connect with diverse segments of Indian society, including women, the elderly, and the youth. The program is broadcast in 22 Indian languages and 29 dialects, as well as 11 foreign languages, such as French, Chinese, and Arabic. More than 500 All India Radio centers broadcast “Mann Ki Baat” across India and internationally.
