The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII<\/a>) has entered into an agreement with Nasscom<\/a> to skill, reskill<\/a> and upskill<\/a> one lakh youth<\/a> over the next two years, imparting digital skills<\/a> training to them. <\/p>\n

The seven target sectors<\/a> identified include banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, green jobs, hospitality and live sciences.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe need for tech-specific skills has become critical across all sectors. Our partnership<\/a> will equip non-IT professionals<\/a> with the skills they need to succeed in the digital age,\u201d Chandrajit Banerjee, director general, CII said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCII will leverage its over 10,000 direct corporate members and over 3 lakh enterprises from affiliated national and regional sectoral industry associations to facilitate digital re-skilling and up-skilling,\u201d Banerjee added.<\/p>\n

Currently, CII is present in over 54 cities and industry clusters, providing professional services to the industry while making a social impact. <\/p>\n

The agreement aims to build a digital learning culture through mass dissemination of cross-sectoral digital content. This will help companies to adopt technologies for driving internal efficiencies and enhancing competitiveness.The intervention would equip working professionals from non-IT sectors with specific digital skills, CII said in a statement issued on Monday. \u201cIt would keep them updated with key trends and challenges in the evolving digital ecosystem and help them make their organizations more relevant and productive,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

CII has established 12 centres of excellence which provide specialized services to the industry in areas such as quality, green business, manufacturing excellence, SME competitiveness, sustainable development, water, food and agriculture, among others.
