Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall rainfall over the past 24 hours, leading to waterlogging in many parts of the city. According to BMC, in a six-hour span from 1 am to 7 am today, various parts of Mumbai received over 300 mm of rainfall. This heavy rain caused waterlogging in some low-lying areas and disrupted suburban train services. Given the expected heavy rain today, the BMC has declared a holiday for the first session for all BMC, government, and private schools and colleges in Mumbai. <\/p>\n

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai for today. Residents have been advised not to believe in rumors and to only step out if necessary.<\/p>\n

Mumbai local train updates<\/h2>\n

Despite the heavy rain, Western Railway’s suburban section is running normally, the Railways said. High-capacity water pumps are being used to drain water, and railway staff are closely monitoring the situation to maintain smooth operations. According to the latest update at 7:30 am on July 8, 2024, down direction trains on the Western Railway are running 10 minutes late.<\/p>\n

On the Central Railway, train services on the Main line are operational, though delays are occurring between Bhandup and Nahur due to waterlogging. The points have been clamped and padlocked to manage the situation, with clamping completed by 6:45 am. Harbour line services are running normally.<\/p>\n

Many trains cancelled<\/h2>\n

Due to water logging, the following trains have been cancelled in Mumbai division, Central Railways said.<\/p>\n
