Mumbai traffic update<\/h2>\n

Morning rush-hour traffic congested the Eastern and Western Express highways in Mumbai. Central Railway canceled some long-distance trains due to water on the tracks. The heavy rain in Mumbai follows record-breaking showers in Delhi, which recently led to a fatal roof collapse at the airportThe Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) reported that many of its buses were rerouted due to waterlogging. Affected areas included Worli, Buntara Bhavan in Kurla East, King’s Circle, Dadar, and Vidyavihar Railway Station.<\/p>\n

At King’s Circle, a commuter stated, “My car is stuck on the road. There is no point in blaming the government for the rains. The government is doing its job.”<\/p>\n

The IMD has predicted more rains for the city over this week. Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, and Coastal Karnataka, IMD said. Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is likely over Marathwada, Gujarat Region, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, and Interior Karnataka. Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Rayalaseema during the next 5 days.
