James Anderson is now a retired international cricketer. The man who has represented England for the past 22 years, making his international debut way back in 2002, will no longer don the English colours. For all his achievements with the ball in hand, if there is one reason why Jimmy will be remembered as a legend of the game, it would his commitment to the game and the team.<\/p>\n

The same was on display when during West Indies’ second innings on day three of the first of their three-match series against England. Even when it seemed more or less certain that there are remote chances of England batting again and this set to be the final day in the Test match and consequently Anderson’s final day as an England cricketer, he remained fully committed to the game and the team.<\/p>\n

While West Indies’ Gudakesh Motie appeared to have timed a ball brilliantly through the covers with the ball racing towards the boundary, Anderson not only sprinted towards the ball but put in a full-length dive to keep the ball in play and save a boundary for his side, aware that that his effort might not impact the eventual result of the match.<\/p>\n
