TIRUPATI: A 5 year old boy with speech and hearing disabilities got locked up inside a room and eventually had a miraculous escape at the govt general hospital in Kurnool.
According to the hospital sources, Hussainayya and Mounika couple, belonging to Tippayapalli village in Orvakal mandal, brought their five year old son Sujith to the govt general hospital for treatment at Kurnool on Sunday.
When his mother went out for a while away from the ward, Sujith wandered around and entered into the Anesthesia HOD room. The hospital staff who didn’t realise that the 5 year old boy was inside, locked up the room from outside.
As Sujith had hearing and speech disabilities, he was helpless as he couldn’t raise an alarm to be rescued.
While his anxious parents kept on searching for him both inside and outside the hospital, Sujith’s missing episode had an happy ending when the anesthesia HOD opened his room and found the boy inside only on Monday morning.
Sujith told his parents in sign language that he survived on cold water kept inside the refrigerator inside the anesthesia HOD room.
