MUMBAI/PUNE: Sadanand Date, an IPS officer of the 1990 batch who was at the forefront of the police response to the 26/11 attacks, will be the new director general of the National Investigation Agency, reported.
Date (57), who responded to the announcement on Wednesday by saying it would be an ‘honour to be a part of NIA”, will move to Delhi to head the counter-terror agency from his current posting as director general of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).Date led a team to fight 26/11 terrorists Ajmal Kasab & his mentor, Ismail Khan, at Cama Hospital in 2008.
