Without ticket Odisha’s migrant worker charged for killing TTE by shoving him out of a speeding train
According to authorities on Wednesday, an Odisha migrant worker who was charged with killing a Traveling Ticket Examiner by shoving him out of a speeding train has been taken into custody.

Soon after the event the culprit, Rajanikanta, an Odisha native from Ganjam, was taken into custody from the adjacent Palakkad district, and his arrest was registered today, they added. The cops reported that he was travelling in the train without a ticket.

The event happened on a train that was leaving Ernakulam and headed towards Patna. K Vinod, a 48-year-old TTE from Ernakulam, was purportedly pushed out of the moving train, which resulted in his death. It is believed that after the accused reportedly shoved him out of the vicinity of Velappaya area under the Thrissur Medical College police station limits, another train heading in the other way ran over his body.

The on-duty TTE was intentionally pushed with the aim to murder him, according to the FIR filed this morning. Rajanikanta was infuriated when the TTE demanded he pay a fine after he was discovered to be traveling without a ticket.

A fellow passenger’s allegation led the Thrissur Railway police to file a case. The Indian Penal Code, Section 302, is the basis for the accused’s booking.

For a postmortem, the victim’s body has been moved to the government medical college hospital. Several passengers and coworkers recall Vinod as a friendly individual who was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. As for Vinod, the chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan described his untimely death while doing official duties as “very painful” today. In a condolence message, the CM expressed his sympathy to Vinod’s friends and family and promised to take the necessary actions to ensure the accused receives the just penalty.[With PTI inputs]
