Reports indicate that Patel, then 24 years old, allegedly assaulted his 21-year-old wife using a kitchen knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds within the shop’s backroom in the presence of customers.
The unfortunate incident occurred while Patel and his wife, Palak, were working the night shift at a Dunkin’ Donuts store. CCTV footage captured during the event depicted the couple heading towards the kitchen area before vanishing behind the racks.
Patel is facing severe charges, including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure. An arrest warrant was issued by the US District Court in Baltimore on April 20, 2015, following Patel’s indictment for fleeing to evade prosecution.
