The actor filed an FIR after a video started doing the rounds on social media in which he is purportedly heard voicing his political views.
“Yes, we have filed the police complaint and FIR has been lodged against the handle that was promoting the AI-generated deepfake video of Ranveer Singh,” his spokesperson said.

Despite the authenticity of the footage depicting his recent Varanasi visit, the audio is artificially generated to mimic Ranveer’s voice. Ranveer took to Instagram on Friday, cautioning his followers with “Deepfake se bacho doston” (Friends, beware of deepfakes). This incident underscores concerns surrounding deepfake technology’s potential misuse in spreading misinformation and highlights the importance of discerning between authentic and synthesized content in the digital age.
