Labour has won all but one of the contests to elect new mayors across England, with the Conservatives winning Tees Valley.
Sadiq Khan won a historic third term as London mayor and the race in the West Midlands was extremely close. A full recount was held in Coventry, one of the seven areas which voted in the West Midlands election.
On Friday, Ben Houchen’s win for the Conservatives in the Tees Valley mayoral race was a rare bright spot for the party.
