Due to debris falling triggered by heavy rainfall, the Badrinath-Rishikesh highway has been closed near Sirobagadh. The closure of traffic affected passengers travelling to Badrinath and Kedarnath. Passengers en route to these destinations have been halted at Srikot-Srinagar and Kliyasod as a precautionary measure. Authorities have been alerted to exercise caution in their respective districts. IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of Uttarakhand in the coming days.
