Supreme Court says NewsClick founder Prabir Purakayastha’s arrest under UAPA ‘illegal’; orders immediate release


Supreme Court of India ordered the release of NewsClick founder and editor Prabir Purkayastha in the UAPA case after announcing that his arrest and remand were ‘illegal’. NewsClick founder Prabir Purkayastha and HR head Amit Chakravarty were arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell on October 3, 2023.
