NASA to train ISRO astronauts for ISS trip
NASA is working with ISRO to train an Indian astronaut for an International Space Station (ISS) trop, said Nasa administrator Bill Nelson. The two space research organisations will also be working on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET), in a bid to boost Indo-US space collaboration, reported TOI.

“Building on my visit to India last year, Nasa continues to further the United States and India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology for the benefit of humanity.Together we are expanding our countries’ collaboration in space, to include a joint effort aboard the International Space Station with an ISRO astronaut. While the mission are still in work, these efforts will support future human spaceflight and improve life here on Earth,” Nelson posted on the social media platform ‘X’ on Thursday.

The comments come after a fact sheet was issued by India and the US after the iCET Dialogue between National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his counterpart Jake Sullivan on Monday. The sheet said that they were working towards advanced technology for ISRO astronauts in the US.

India and the US are also working on deepening interoperability in space and toward advance training to Indian astronauts at the NASA Johnson Space Centre. The two NSAs also spoke on having a carrier for the first joint efforts between NASA and ISRO astronauts at the ISS.
