Bangladesh crisis: Govt urged to take steps for safety of minorities
Vishwa Hindu Parishad has urged the Modi government to take “every possible” step to ensure the safety of Hindus, Sikhs and other minorities in Bangladesh amid reports of them being targeted by fundamentalists.

A similar concern was raised by Union minister Ravneet Bittu, who has written a letter to minister S Jaishankar seeking protection for Hindu and Sikh shrines in Bangladesh. He requested Jaishankar to take up the issue of the security of historical Sikh shrines – Gurdwara Nanak Shahi and Gurdwara Sangat Tola – in Dhaka with authorities in Bangladesh.
