Wayanad (Kerala): A search and rescue operation is underway in Kerala’s Wayanad district following a devastating landslide on the morning of July 30, which has resulted in 308 confirmed deaths so far. A team of 12 rescue officials, including a cadaver dog, was successfully dismounted at the banks of the Chaliyar River in Sunrise Valley. The landslides, which occurred in the c areas of Vellarimala village, fall under the jurisdiction of the Meppadi Panchayat in Wayanad.
