
PKL 2024 Auction Live, Day 1: Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League Auction (PKL). The stage looks set for an intense bidding war ahead of season 11 of PKL. Some big stars are set to go under the hammer in Mumbai with all the participating 12 franchises set to be part of the tournament.
Pardeep Narwal, Fazel Atrachali, Pawan Sehrawat, Mohammadreza Chiyaneh Shadloui and Sachin are some of the top names set to go under the hammer. Kabaddi fans can catch the live broadcast of the tournament on Star Sports Network with the live streaming of the same coming on Disney+Hotstar.
The Auction is set to happen over two days. So there is plenty of drama that will unfold over the course of the two days in Mumbai. There is the Final Bid Match option for teams that allows the team that has released its player to get back the player by matching the final bid that has been offered to him in the auction. This is similar to the Right To Match Card in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction.
Auctioneer for the event is Mallika Sagar. She has hosted the PKL Auction before this and even conducted the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction. This will be a big auction as 500 players are expected to go under the hammer. Not only does that mean that players released by the franchises after Season 10 will go under the hammer, 24 players from the two finalists of the Khelo India University Games 2024 will also participate in the auction.
There are 212 slots that are set to be filled over the course of the two-day auction. As many as 88 players have been retained by the franchises. Each squad in PKL 11 can have a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 25 players.
Puneri Paltan who will enter season 11 as the defending champions has the most number of players retained. They achieved the feat after clinching its maiden title in season 10.
