Govt to support those contributing to India’s growth story: Kiren Rijiju
New Delhi: Parliamentary affairs and minority affairs minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday said the government will continue to support those contributing to India’s growth and making the country a better place.

He was speaking at the Times Now Amazing Indians Awards 2024.

The awards honoured 13 individuals from different walks of life who showed relentless courage, determination and selfless actions to inspire change and leave a lasting impact on the lives of many.

Delivering a special address, Rijiju said that in the coming session of Parliament he will devote some time to discuss some of the suggestions and work done by the winners.

Paris 2024 Olympics bronze medallists Aman Sehrawat and Harmanpreet Singh were also felicitated for their achievements. Sehrawat is India’s youngest Olympics medallist yet, while Singh is the captain of the Indian men’s hockey team.

“Seeing such sporting success stories and contributions from all walks of life has truly made India proud,” Rijiju said.The winners- across 12 categories – included Raimati Ghiuria (agriculture), Peera Ram (animal welfare), Pauzagin Tonsing (education), Sarita Subramaniam (environment sustainability), Vishal Singh (food management & nutrition), Raziya Shaikh (girl child & women’s right empowerment), Sipong Chingmak Chang and Preethi Srinivasan (healthcare), Piyush Tiwari (road safety), Ranjeet Yadav (rural & slum development), Nirmalan VR (sanitation & water), Kadivendi Mahipal Chary (social innovation using technology) and Aditya Mehta (sports enablers).A jury comprising Sanjeev Sanyal, member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister; Rajeev Chandrasekhar, former minister of state for electronics and IT; General MM Naravane, former chief of army staff; Prasoon Joshi, chief executive of McCann Worldgroup India; and Renu Sud Karnad, chairperson of GlaxoSmithKline, selected the winners.
