The rape and murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar Hospital in West Bengal has led to significant public outcry. This comes after junior doctors defied the Supreme Court’s order to resume duties by 5 PM on Tuesday, vowing to continue their strike until their demands for justice in the RG Kar Hospital rape and murder case are met.
The court had directed no punitive action against the doctors upon resuming work, following assurances from the West Bengal government. The doctors demand the removal of key officials and remain open to discussions.

The body of a young doctor, discovered on August 9, was reportedly the victim of rape and murder while on duty.
