‘Operation Sadbhaav’: India dispatches aid to flood-hit Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos post Typhoon Yagi

Typhoon Yagi has battered Southeast Asia over the past week, causing multiple deaths and causing massive destruction. Expressing solidarity with storm-hit nations, India dispatched batches of aid to Myanmar, Vietnam and Laos on Sep 15. Known as ‘Operation Sadbhav’, the aid comprised of dry ration, clothing, medicines, water containers, and sleeping bags. 10 tons of aid for Myanmar, 35 tons of aid for Vietnam and 10 tons of aid for Laos were dispatched from the Hindon Base. Taking to X, EAM S Jaishankar reaffirmed India’s stand with storm-hit nations in times of difficulties and devastation. Experts have long warned that rising ocean temperatures are leading to more intense and destructive storms. The ongoing crisis underscores the urgent need for global climate action and support for the most affected regions.
