ਜਗਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ 20ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਪੱਖਪਾਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਖੱਬੇ ਝੁਕਾਅ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। 1977 ਵਿਚ ਕੰਮ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸੱਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਨੇੜਤਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੱਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸਵਾਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਛੇ? ਉਹ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗੁਆਉਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸਨੇ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੁਆਰਥੀ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੌਕਾ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਈ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਛੋਟੀਆਂ-ਛੋਟੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ। ਅਤੀਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਬੰਦ ਕਰੋ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ ਸਕਦੇ. ਇਸ 'ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੋ. ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੇ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ ਤਾਂ ਲੜਨਾ ਬੰਦ ਕਰੋ।

Jagtar Singh is well versed with 20th century history of Panjab but he is biased and left leaning. He enjoyed life due to his closeness to the power since he started work in 1977. Why didn't he ask tough questions to people in power during that time? He did not want to lose access. He wasted opportunity for selfish reasons like most others. Sadly no one stood for Panjab and even now we are fighting over small stuff. Stop talking about the past unless you can bring the same power and respect back. Work on it. Please stop fighting if possible.
