Shubuu Lonkar is currently evading arrest. According to the Mumbai Police, Shubham Lonkar provided shelter to both of the arrested suspects in Pune.Baba Siddique‘s assailants were identified by the Mumbai crime branch on Sunday, a day after the NCP politician was shot dead in the city.
So far, two suspects have been apprehended: Gurmail Baljit Singh, 23, from Haryana, and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap, 19, from Uttar Pradesh. The third accused is on the run and efforts are on to trace him, police said.
The fourth suspect was identified as Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar, informed Mumbai Police.
The murder is suspected to be a pre-planned act, a Mumbai police official said on Sunday.
On October 12, 2024, between 21:15 and 21:30 hours, Siddiqui was shot multiple times by three men as he left his office in Bandra (West), Mumbai. Despite being rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment, he was declared dead by medical staff.
