Hunter’s Moon 2024: Breathtaking largest and brightest supermoon lights up the sky – Hunter’s moon glow at Kartavya Path in Delhi
The breathtaking view of the Hunter’s Moon, the year’s largest and brightest moon, was witnessed across India on October 17. A supermoon occurs when the Moon is at its closest point to Earth. This supermoon is called the Hunter’s Moon because it marks the time of year when leaves begin to fall, signaling the approach of winter. Ancient communities would intensify hunting activities during this period. The next full moon on November 15 is the ‘Beaver Moon,’ linked to when beavers prepare for winter shelter, and it will also be a supermoon.

The supermoon shines above India Gate, as seen from Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The spectacle was also observed in Raipur, Madhya Pradesh, from its clock tower, and in other parts of the world, including New Zealand, Japan, and Australia.
