IMD issues cyclone alert in Bay of Bengal till November 23
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert regarding the formation of an upper air cyclonic circulation over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas, expected around November 21.

According to the IMD, the system is predicted to move west-northwestward, developing into a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal by November 23. It may further intensify into a depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal within the subsequent two days as it continues to move in the same direction.

Currently, the region is experiencing scattered low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection over the southwest Bay of Bengal, Palk Strait, and Gulf of Mannar. The southeast Bay of Bengal is also witnessing scattered clouds with moderate to intense convection, while isolated weak to moderate convection prevails over the east-central Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea.
