Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh said that police have done a drive on the suspicion of Bangladeshi staying and around 29 individuals mostly from Assam were found not in compliance with the Manipur Inner Line Permit (ILP) guidelines. Singh said that on 30th November 2024, a team of Mayang Imphal PS conducted an ILP checking drive at Mayang Imphal Bengoon area. During the drive, 29 individuals who are working in the bakery were detected with the Labour category of ILP which upon verification through Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West were found to have been issued not in compliance with the Manipur ILP guidelines, 2019.
