A 36-year-old man from Nepal, accused of stabbing his wife’s suspected lover in Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy area last November, has been arrested following a cross-border manhunt, reported TOI.

The accused, who had been working in Kuwait, became fixated on his wife’s alleged affair with a factory colleague after she requested a divorce. According to the TOI report, his obsessive pursuit spanned several cities, including Nepal, Mumbai, and Delhi, as he tracked his target’s every move for months.

The situation turned violent on November 23 when the accused confronted the 32-year-old man and repeatedly stabbed him near his Mukundpur residence. Following the attack, he fled to Nepal, evading capture by frequently changing his phone number and planning to assume a new identity.

The police launched a 30-day search operation that involved technical surveillance and coordination with Nepalese authorities, noted the report.

The breakthrough came when the accused returned to Delhi two days ago, reportedly to check if his victim had succumbed to his injuries, suggesting he might have been planning another attack. The victim, who was initially in critical condition, has since shown significant recovery.


TOI reported that the accused has been arrested, and the police have charged him with attempted murder under Section 109 of the IPC at Bhalswa Dairy police station.
