As the Indian Premier League (IPL) enters its 18th season, countless records have been made and broken. However, some achievements from the tournament’s early years still stand “unbeaten”. One such record was set in the very first season of IPL in 2008 and remains unbroken to this day.
During a match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Deccan Chargers, CSK’s Albie Morkel hit an extraordinary 125-meter six – the longest in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Despite numerous big hitters like Chris Gayle and MS Dhoni gracing the tournament over the years, no one has been able to surpass this record.

In 2013, Praveen Kumar came close, hitting a 124-meter six for Punjab Kings, but he still fell just short by a meter. Morkel’s 125-meter six continues to reign as the longest in Indian Premier League (IPL) history.
