In response to escalating air pollution levels, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in Delhi-NCR has invoked stringent air quality measures under Stage-III (‘Severe’) and Stage-IV (‘Severe+’) of the revised Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
This action follows a rise in the Air Quality Index (AQI), with the forecast predicting that it could surpass the 400 mark, signaling an urgent need for additional protective measures.
The decision comes after a series of directions issued by the Supreme Court in its ongoing case concerning air pollution, particularly focusing on the deteriorating air quality in Delhi.
