At least five people lost their lives and over 40 were injured when a wooden structure collapsed during a Jain community event in Badaut on Tuesday, police reported. District Magistrate Asmita Lal shared that the injured were rushed to a hospital, where 20 received first aid and were discharged, while the others are still being treated.“A wooden structure collapsed at the event in which around 40 persons were injured and five were killed,” Lal said. She also mentioned that this annual event has been organised for the past 30 years.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken note of the incident and instructed the district administration to ensure proper medical care for the injured. He also expressed his wishes for their speedy recovery.
