Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman speaks for the first time after the Union Budget 2025 presentation, her eighth in a row and first in Modi 3.0. The FM announced big tax benefits for the middle class in a long while, exempting brackets under Rs 12 lakh under the New Tax Regime. She also announced social security benefits for gig-workers and big-ticket investments in startups and BigTech. Special focus was on incentives for Bihar, and investments in agriculture, MSMEs and people as ‘three engines of growth’.
