CAQM revokes Stage II of GRAP across Delhi-NCR; Stage I measures to remain in effect
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) announced the immediate revocation of Stage II of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) across Delhi-NCR on Monday. The Commission has confirmed that the measures outlined under Stage I of GRAP, aimed at controlling air pollution through various preventive actions, will remain in place to ensure continued monitoring and management of air quality. The revocation of Stage II comes as a relief to residents and businesses across the region, who have been grappling with the economic impact of the stricter pollution control measures.

Air quality in Delhi-NCR has fluctuated over the past few months, with pollution levels reaching hazardous levels during peak winter months. However, the CAQM’s decision to scale back Stage II reflects the improving conditions.

The regulations under stage 1 GRAP include rigorous inspections of polluting vehicles and improved traffic management. Additionally, there will be stringent emission controls applied to industries, power plants, and brick kilns.
