Unlucky Streak: Rohit Sharma Loses 12th Toss In A Row, Sets Record

IND vs NZ Final: India lost the toss yet again as the Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma was put in to bowl first in the India vs New Zealand ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final on March 9 (Sunday) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This was India’s 15th consecutive toss loss in ODIs — 12 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and three under KL Rahul’s leadership. Notably, India are the only unbeaten team in the Champions Trophy 2025 and have lost all four tosses at their fixed venue—Dubai.

Rohit Sharma matched the unwanted record of 12 toss defeats, previously held by West Indies legend Brian Lara between October 1998 and May 1999.
