New Delhi: In a significant move, the NSA of Turkey visited India for the annual Intel chiefs’ meet last Sunday in what was the first high-level visit from the Turkish security establishment to India since 2019.
This was the first NSA-level visit from Turkey to India in six years amid Turkey’s fluctuating position on Kashmir.
The meeting convened by NSA Ajit Doval among other issues focused on the situation in West Asia and terrorism. Turkey is a key player in Syria following the fall of President Hafeez Al Assad and maintains a strong presence in the Horn of Africa and Libya.
