24-year-old IB officer found dead near railway tracks in Kerala, family seeks probe
A 24-year-old Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer, M Megha, was found dead on the railway tracks at Chackai, Thiruvananthapuram, on Monday. Her family has lodged a complaint with IB and Kerala Police, urging an investigation into the circumstances of her death. While police suspect suicide, her family disputes this claim and demands a thorough inquiry, a TOI report stated.

Police Suspect Suicide, Family Disagrees

According to the police, Megha was hit by the Jayanthi Janata Express while walking alongside the tracks. The train’s loco pilot reportedly saw her talking on the phone before she jumped in front of the train. Authorities believe emotional distress over a break-up with a colleague could have driven her to take this step. However, her family insists she had no reason to be near the railway tracks and suspects foul play.

Last Moments Under Investigation

Megha was working in the immigration wing of Thiruvananthapuram airport and had just finished her night duty before the incident. Her father, Madhusoodhnan, stated that she had been in a relationship with a colleague since their training period and had been working with IB for only 13 months. He questioned why she was at the railway tracks and demanded an investigation into her last phone call.

Police to Analyze Mobile Phone

The police have ordered a detailed investigation and will send Megha’s damaged mobile phone for forensic analysis to determine her last communications. Further inquiries are underway to establish the exact cause of her death.
