
IPL 2025 Points Table: Punjab Kings (PBKS) registered their second consecutive victory in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as they defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by eight wickets in the 13th match of the season at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on April 1 (Tuesday). The victory lifted PBKS to second place in the IPL 2025 points table. With two wins from two matches, they now have four points and an impressive net run rate (NRR) of +1.485, trailing only Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who top the standings with a better NRR.
Opting to bowl first, PBKS took control early, reducing LSG to 119/5 in 15.5 overs. Nicholas Pooran (44 off 30) looked in good touch but couldn’t convert it into a big score, while Ayush Badoni chipped in with a steady 41 off 33. A late blitz from Abdul Samad (27 off 12) featuring innovative strokes helped LSG post 171/7 at the Ekana Stadium.

In response, Prabhsimran Singh led PBKS’ chase with a blistering 69 off 34 balls, well-supported by Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten 52 off 30. Digvesh Rathi picked up two wickets for LSG, but PBKS stayed in control, sealing an eight-wicket win with 22 balls to spare.
