Glen Powell isn’t shutting down the Sydney Sweeney romance rumours, but he’s not exactly spilling the beans either. The Anyone But You co-stars have been making plenty of headlines after Sweeney attended Powell’s sister Leslie’s wedding in Dallas over the weekend, just days after calling it quits with fiancé Jonathan Davino. Now, speaking on Today with Jenna & Friends, Powell finally addressed the rumours linking him to Sweeney.
During the segment, host Jenna Bush Hager had some fun at Powell’s expense, directly grilling him about the romance rumours. “The wedding caused a little bit of a stir. Did that surprise you?” she asked. Powell, sitting next to Olivia Munn, instantly played it coy. “You know, timing is everything in this world,” he said. He then confirmed Sydney Sweeney was indeed at his sister’s wedding, adding, “She and Syd are obviously great friends, and it was a hell of a wedding.”
Talking about the big day, Powell looked back at his role not just as a groomsman but also the “master of ceremonies.” He recalled delivering a speech and spending time with both his sister and her new husband, calling him “the best guy.” When it came to the wedding itself, Powell made it clear his family knows how to party. “It was just such a fun, rowdy wedding,” he said. “The Powells know how to crank it up.”
Sweeney had earlier posed for a picture with Glen’s sister, Leslie Powell, at the wedding. The photo was later posted on social media and instantly went viral. Sweeney’s reunion with Powell was worth the hype, especially since it came less than a year after their Anyone But You press tour, which first sparked dating rumors due to their flirtatious interactions. Before the wedding, the two were also spotted together at a restaurant in Dallas. However, Powell’s mom was quick to shut things down. Speaking to Daily Mail on April 1, she dismissed the rumors as “silly” and made it clear, “They’re definitely not together.” After clarifying that nothing is going behind the doors, Cyndy added, “We love Sydney. We’ve considered her just a really, really good friend.” She continued, “We all were together so much, and we haven’t seen her in a long time. She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her.”

Back in March 2024, while hosting Saturday Night Live, Sydney Sweeney didn’t shy away from addressing rumours that she had cheated on her fiancé, Jonathan Davino, during the filming Anyone But You. She said, “That’s obviously not true. Me and my fiancé produced the movie together, and he was there the entire shoot.” But by the end of March, PEOPLE confirmed that Sweeney had called off her engagement to Davino, 41. A source told the outlet that she’s been throwing herself into work, which is exactly where she wants to be. “Most people would feel overwhelmed by her schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about work right now and super excited about everything she has going on,” the insider shared.
