Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian were in Mumbai, India, in July 2024 for the wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. In the latest episode of their reality show The Kardashians, the sisters spoke about the opulent wedding festivities and discussed the lavishly decorated venue that had “millions of flowers” and “everything had diamonds.”
During the episode, Khloe said that the entire arena was decorated and Kim immediately interrupted her by saying, “like millions of flowers hanging from the ceiling.” Khloe said this was “sensory overload in the best way possible.” She also compared the wedding venue to Disneyland ride ‘It’s a Small World’ but Kim instantly added, “But like elaborate. It felt like a whole different world.”
Khloe Kardashian spoke about bride Radhika Merchant’s entry at the wedding which happened on top of a peacock-shaped boat. “The bride coming in on a peacock float with precious gems all over it,” Khloe said and Kim added, “Real gold was painted on the stuff. Everything had diamonds. The cows had little foot cuffs with diamonds. The Ambani family even prayed to cows during the wedding ceremony.” Khloe mentioned that although the wedding was really “opulent”, the Ambani family was also performing many philanthropic deeds in the run up to the wedding.
During the same episode, Kim Kardashian said that she doesn’t know the Ambanis but decided to attend the wedding on a “whim.” She said, “I actually don’t know the Ambanis. We definitely have friends in common. Lorraine Schwartz is one of our good friends. She is a jeweller. She does jewellery for the Ambani family. She told me she was going to their wedding and they would love to invite you and we just went on a whim and said ‘sure.’”
Khloe said that the invitation they received weighed around 18-22 kgs. “Even the invitation that we received was 40-50 pounds and it had music coming out of it,” she said and added, “It was crazy so I think when we saw the invitation, we were like, you don’t say no to something like this.”
