Veteran actor Manoj Kumar has been given state honours at his funeral on Saturday. The legendary actor died at 87 on Friday due to heart-related issues. According to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, the secondary cause of death was “decompensated liver cirrhosis.” The actor was laid to rest at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Mumbai.

Manoj Kumar’s funeral was attended by many of his industry friends including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Salim Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Zayed Khan, Anu Malik, Rajpal Yadav, and Vindu Dara Singh, among others.

The ambulance that carried the mortal remains of the veteran star was decorated with flowers arranged in the national flag’s colours. His family and industry friends gathered at his residence to pay their last respect. Manoj Kumar’s wife, Shashi Goswami, broke down as she bid him farewell.

Upon the actor’s death on Friday, industry personalities like Farah Khan, Sajid Khan, Prem Chopra, Dharmendra, and Raveena Tandon, among others visited the hospital where Manoj Kumar passed away to pay their last respects. Several other celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan took to their respective social media handles to express grief over the death of Bollywood’s Bharat Kumar.

Manoj Kumar was known for his patriotic films including Shaheed (1965), Upkar (1967), and Purab Aur Paschim (1970). The actor had received the Padma Shri in 1992 for his contributions to Bollywood. In 2015, he was honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
