Embattled comedian Kunal Kamra isn’t the biggest fan of Big Boss; he refused an alleged offer to join the Salman Khan-hosted reality show. He took to Instagram stories and shared a screenshot of a chat between him and a person claiming to be involved in the casting department of the reality show.
The ‘casting agent’ pitched the show to the comedian and said, “I am handling the casting for this season of Bigg Boss, and your name came up as someone they might find interesting. I know it might not have been on your radar, but honestly, it’s such a mad platform to show your real vibe and win over a massive audience. What do you think? Should we talk about it?” Without missing a beat, Kunal responded, “I would much rather check into a mental hospital.”

But that’s not all; the comedian then proceeded to share a screenshot of the chat on his Instagram story paired with a song from the Salman Khan starrer Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai (2021). It is still unclear whether Kamra was approached by someone actually from the show or not.
Kunal Kamra recently landed in hot water after he made a joke about Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The venue where he recorded his comedy set was vandalised by Shiv Sena workers, fuelling a debate about freedom of speech and comedy’s position on that spectrum. The comedian, however, refused to take it lying down and has been constantly posting on social media, criticising those who’ve attacked him and calling out other organisations for shadow banning him.
In the past, Kunal Kamra has joked about both Salman and Bigg Boss. After it was alleged that the actor would be taking legal action against him for jokes made at his expense, Kunal Kamra wrote on social media, “I am not a flying bird or a stationary footpath & I don’t apologise for jokes anymore.” Salman Khan was last seen alongside Rashmika Mandaana, in the action film Sikandar, which is having a disappointing run at the box-office.
