Actors Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Nikita Dutta are all set to star in Netflix India’s Jewel Thief. The heist drama is produced by Siddharth Anand and directed by Kookie Gulati and Robby Grewal. At the film’s trailer launch event, actor Jaideep Ahlawat joked about wanting to steal Saif Ali Khan’s family home.
When asked at the event what he would like to steal from each of his co-stars from Jewel Thief, Jaideep jokingly said, “There is a property in Haryana called Pataudi Palace. I have seen it, it’s very beautiful.”
Talking about his role in this heist film, Jaideep said, “In a heist film there are always many twists and turns. No one knows who is getting bluffed in this, so there will be many twists the audience will get to see.”
When pointed out that many are referring to his dance moves in the film as AI-generated, the actor commented, “Genuinely, there was nothing much we did with it. I don’t know why people are so surprised to see me dance, I am from Haryana and have danced in lots of ghudchadis (wedding processions). Dancing is okay, Shazia and Piyush just made our jobs easy.”
His co-star Nikita Dutta also revealed, “Jaideep had an audience to see him dance when he went in front of the camera.” In Jewel Thief, Jaideep Ahlawat is seen as an antagonist. The film will release on 25th April, 2025.
Pataudi Palace
Saif Ali Khan owns Pataudi Palace, which the family uses as a summer home. They also lease it out to film productions for the purpose of shooting; part of Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal were shot here. In a recent interview with Housing.com, Soha Ali Khan revealed that while Saif is the owner, their mother Sharmila Tagore handles its hisaab-kitaab and also lives there. Soha revealed that her grandmother, Sajida Sultan, was the begum of Bhopal, and her grandfather was the nawab of Pataudi. He loved her for many years but her father was not allowing their marriage. “The Pataudi Palace was built to impress his father-in-law.”
