Veteran actor and comedian Mushtaq Khan, who has starred in several films alongside Salman Khan, recently spoke about his experience of working with the superstar. He lauded the Dabangg star for his humility and recalled an instance when Salman gave away all the money he had to a woman in need. Mushtaq also remembered the time when veteran writer Salim Khan wanted his son to join theatre.
Speaking to Filmymantra Media, Mushtaq shared the reason behind Salim Khan’s wish to see Salman perform on stage. “Salim sahab would ask me, ‘You do theatre. Find something for Salman also.’ It’s true. He wanted to send Salman to theatre so that he opens up a bit.”
Talking about the first time he worked with Salman and how sincere he was as a newcomer, Mushtaq said, “I acted with Salman for the first time in Ek Ladka Ek Ladki. He would come and observe me on set. He was very sincere — always observing, always learning.”
Mushtaq also fondly recalled how Salman would mingle with everyone on set and even cook for them. He shared, “On the sets of Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, he would make eggs for everyone and invite us. Salman would call me and Johnny Lever to his room and cook for us according to our taste. He would even call us ‘sir.’”
Sharing the time he witnessed Salman’s generosity firsthand, Mushtaq said, “Once a person came to the room informing us that a lady was outside asking for help. Salman immediately took out his wallet and gave whatever he had. He asked Johnny and me to also give some money. When he asked me, I told him, ‘I don’t have any money on me.’ We didn’t get much at that time, but Salman gave whatever he had in that moment.”
