Murshidabad violence: Calcutta High Court orders formation of 3-member committee
The Calcutta High Court on Thursday ordered formation of a three-member panel – one member each from the National Human Rights Commission, West Bengal State Human Rights Commission and the State Legal Services Authority – to visit the violence-affected areas of Murshidabad to oversee the restoration of peace and rehabilitation of displaced people.

The court also said that central forces will continue in Murshidabad.

The state government submitted a report before the high court and claimed that the law and order situation in Murshidabad was under control.

A bench of justices Soumen Sen and Raja Basu Chowdhury also heard a petition moved by BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who sought NIA probe into the Murshidabad violence.
