Look forward to Trump’s visit to India later this year: PM Modi tells JD Vance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while holding talks with US Vice President JD Vance expressed that he is looking forward to meeting Donald Trump in India later this year.

“Prime Minister conveyed his warm greetings to President Trump and said that he looked forward to his visit to India later this year,” said an official statement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held talks with US Vice President JD Vance against the backdrop of ongoing negotiations for a bilateral trade pact. It is expected that the two leaders will discuss ways to further expand India-US global strategic ties as well as New Delhi’s concerns over Washington’s trade policy.

Following talks between Prime Minister Modi and US President Donald Trump in Washington DC in February, the two sides announced that they would negotiate the first tranche of the bilateral trade agreement by the fall of 2025.

After the talks, the prime minister will host a dinner for Vance, his Indian-origin wife Usha Chilukuri and the delegation of senior US government officials accompanying the vice president.
