According to the Army’s Chinar Corps, a group of two to three unidentified terrorists attempted to infiltrate through the Uri Nala area in north Kashmir’s Sarjeevan sector. The attempted infiltration came less than 24 hours after the Pahalgam attack and just hours before a gunfight broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Tangmarg area of Kulgam district. Acting on intelligence inputs, security personnel launched a cordon and search operation, which led to an encounter when terrorists opened fire. No casualties have been reported in the Kulgam gunfight so far, and operations are ongoing.
