Pahalgam Attack: Houses of three more terrorists demolished in Jammu and Kashmir


Authorities have demolished the houses of three active terrorists in different districts of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Sunday. The action follows a crackdown on the terror network after the recent attack in Pahalgam.The houses were located in Bandipora, Pulwama, and Shopian districts.

According to officials, the house of Adnan Shafi, a terrorist who joined last year, was demolished in Wandina, Shopian district, on Saturday night. Another terrorist, Amir Nazir, had his house demolished in Pulwama district. In Bandipora district, the house of Lashkar-e-Toiba member Jameel Ahmad Shergojri was demolished. Shergojri has been an active terrorist since 2016.

With these demolitions, the total number of houses belonging to terrorists and their supporters that have been demolished since the Pahalgam attack has risen to nine.

The crackdown follows an attack on Tuesday in Baisaran, a tourist spot near Pahalgam in Anantnag district. “Terrorists on Tuesday opened fire in Baisaran, a popular tourist spot in the upper reaches of Pahalgam in Anantnag district, killing 26 people, mostly holidayers from other states — an incident that has spiked India-Pakistan tensions, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserting that the killers would be pursued “to the ends of the earth.”
