Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have impressed everyone with their outstanding run in IPL 2025. Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, RCB has won 7 out of their 10 matches and currently sits at the top of the points table with 14 points.
Despite several captaincy changes since their debut in 2008, RCB has never managed to lift the IPL trophy. However, the team’s performance this season has raised hopes of finally ending their 18-year title drought.
Historic Milestone Within Reach
RCB will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3 in IPL 2025. A win here would not just edge them closer to playoff qualification — it would also help RCB create a unique record. They could become the first team in IPL history to win all their away matches in the league stage of a season.
No team has achieved this feat so far. In 2012, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) came close but suffered a defeat against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur during the league stage, falling just short.
Now, RCB has a golden opportunity to accomplish what no other team has — a clean sweep of all away games in the league stage — and etch their name into the IPL record books.
RCB have emerged as one of the strongest teams of IPL 2025, winning 7 out of their 10 matches so far. Sitting at the top of the points table with 14 points, RCB are now serious contenders to end their long wait for an IPL title.
RCB has four league matches left — three at their home ground and one away match against Lucknow Super Giants. RCB’s next match in IPL 2025 is against CSK on May 3.
A win in the match against CSK would help RCB reach 16 points and this would not only confirm their spot in the playoffs but also create history: RCB would become the first team ever to win all their away matches in a single IPL league stage — a feat yet to be achieved by powerhouses like Mumbai Indians or Chennai Super Kings.
Even if RCB loses against CSK on May 3, they will have three more games to secure qualification.
