Former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has confirmed his relationship with Sophie Shine through a social media post shared on May 1 (Thursday). The couple first grabbed attention after being spotted together during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Later, Dhawan and Shine were seen together at a media conclave, where Dhawan all but confirmed their relationship by referring to her as the “most beautiful girl in the room.”

In a now-viral video, an anchor questions Shikhar Dhawan about his girlfriend and her name. While Dhawan initially sidesteps the question, he eventually says, “I won’t take any names (abhi main yaha par naam nahi bataunga). But the most beautiful girl in the room is my girlfriend,” as the camera pans to Sophie Shine.

Now on Thursday, Shine and Dhawan officially confirmed their relationship on social media. Sharing a picture together on Instagram, the couple captioned it, “My Love” followed by a heart emoji.

Dhawan, who is already divorced, first sparked dating rumours with Sophie Shine during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, when he was spotted sitting beside her in the stands during India’s matches. At the time, several media reports identified Shine as a product consultant based in Ireland.

Shikhar Dhawan married Ayesha Mukherjee, a trained kickboxer, in October 2012. It was Ayesha’s second marriage; she was previously married to an Australian businessman and had two daughters, Rhea and Aliyah, from that relationship. In 2014, Shikhar and Ayesha welcomed their first child together, a son named Zorawar. The couple eventually parted ways in 2023, and in February 2025, Dhawan revealed that he hadn’t seen his son in the last two years.
